Halloween the Italian Way

As you may already know, Halloween is not a traditional Italian celebration. However, since the 1990s, the popularity of Halloween has been constantly growing. Nowadays, if you are in Italy on the 31st of October you are likely to find many little trick-or-treaters. Kids like to dress up for Halloween, but adults do too! Halloween parties are really popular now, and you will find plenty of them organised in most towns and cities. Most shops will also be selling Halloween decorations and costumes

Italian Pumpkin Risotto

Did you carve a pumpkin for Halloween? Are you wondering what you could do with pumpkin pulp? Pumpkin, or zucca, is a very popular ingredient in Italian cuisine, especially in Northern Italy. In autumn it is used as a base for many delicious recipes and its bright orange colour will make your dishes look interesting and fun. A very popular recipe is risotto alla zucca, which mean pumpkin risotto. If you don’t have any pumpkin, you can also use butternut squash.
