Hotel Continental Mare

Island of Ischia

This hotel enjoys an extraordinary position in a tranquil park overlooking the Gulf of Naples and guests can reach the port of Ischia, 1.5kms away, with a pleasant stroll along a path lined with oleander bushes. It started life as a villa, which was home to an American magnate who loved the island of Ischia, and although it has been enlarged over the years to house a hotel it still keeps the charm of a private residence. The stylish bedrooms are decorated in fresh Mediterranean style and either have views over the sea or the lovely gardens. The grounds house two thermal pools of different sizes and temperatures; the Garden Pool has thermal water at 30 degrees and is surrounded by lawns with a large sunbathing area; the Panoramic Pool has wonderful views over the bay and the Neapolitan coastline and has water at 28 degrees which is perfect for toning the body and improving circulation. By taking the steps you can reach the rocks below from where it’s possible to bathe in the sea. The hotel’s spa offers a vast array of treatments from facials and manicures to massages. The free shuttle bus will take you to their sister hotel, the Continental Terme, which also has a spa offering treatments using the thermal waters of Ischia which are known to hold many health-boosting qualities.
