Based in the lovely spa town of Montecatini, this Explorer Holiday includes days out to see the very best of this beautiful region and also includes wine tasting in the Chianti countryside.


  • 7 nights half board at the high standard 4 star Hotel Francia & Quirinale in Montecatini Terme, with swimming pool.
  • Assistance throughout from a dedicated Inghams Representative.
  • Visit Florence by train and enjoy a guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery with works by the most famous Renaissance artists.
  • Visit Siena and San Gimignano, the walled city of 14 towers.
  • A day to discover the beautiful Chianti countryside with wine tasting.
  • Optional days out to visit Lucca or Pisa by train.
  • Optional excursion to the Cinque Terre.
  • Plenty of time to relax and enjoy Montecatini and perhaps some spa treatments.


Day 1 | Fly to Pisa from a selection of UK regional airports. Transfers to Montecatini are provided. Evening introduction to your fellow travellers and Inghams Representative.

Day 2 | Today we visit the beautiful area of Chianti, known throughout the world for its excellent wines but also for its unique landscape of rolling hills and vineyards. We stop for wine tasting in one of the area's wineries.

Day 3 | The crowning highlight - travel by train to nearby Florence with a guided tour of the world famous Uffizi Gallery and the incredible Duomo. 

Day 4 | A day at leisure to enjoy Montecatini. Perhaps take the funicular up to Montecatini Alto to admire the views or take a treatment at one of the resort's spas. There is also the chance to take an optional excursion to the Cinque Terre.

Day 5 | Guided tour of Siena, with visit to the beautiful Gothic cathedral. Then onwards to San Gimignano, famous for its many towers.

Day 6 | A day at leisure or perhaps take the local train to the pretty, walled town of Lucca. A little further down the line is Pisa and the famous leaning tower.

Day 7 | A day at leisure to enjoy the hotel's pool or do a spot of shopping.

Day 8 | Transfer provided to Pisa airport for return flight to UK or connection to your second centre.
