Itinerary

Day 1 | Fly to Pisa from a selection of UK regional airports. Transfers to Montecatini are provided. Evening introduction to your fellow travellers and Inghams Explorer Guide.

Day 2 | Today we visit the beautiful area of Chianti, known throughout the world for its excellent wines but also for its unique landscape of rolling hills and vineyards. We visit the charming towns of Radda and Castellina and stop for wine tasting before visiting the birthplace of Italy's most famous painter at Vinci.

Day 3 | A free day in Montecatini to relax beside the hotel pool or perhaps enjoy a spa treatment at the nearby thermal baths.

Day 4 | The crowning highlight - a full day in Florence with a guided tour of the world famous Uffizi Gallery and the incredible Duomo.

Day 5 | Guided tour of Siena, with visit to the beautiful Gothic cathedral. Then onwards to San Gimignano, famous for its many towers.

Day 6 | A day at leisure to perhaps take the funicular up to Montecatini Alto where there are lovely views. The town is also well connected by train to Florence and other destinations, should you wish to travel further afield.

Day 7 | A short drive to Lucca, the birthplace of Puccini, with a walking tour of the delightful centre of this walled city. At nearby Pisa we visit the cathedral and the famous Leaning Tower.

Day 8 | Transfer provided to Pisa airport for return flight to UK or connection to your second centre.
